![]() Manager Glenn Purdy gave the financial report explaining the necessity for raising dues to meet our operating costs which have been rising while dues had remained constant due to past surpluses which have been exhausted. Dues for 2005 will be $1,975. That includes deposits to our reserve fund to replace the irrigation system when it wears out. |

President Bruce Jay welcomed homeowners to the annual meeting
held on November 16th. Over 80 homeowners had sent in proxies or attended the meeting so we had the necessary quorum to elect the LFEOA Board of Directors for 2005, but the meeting attendees also heard reports about LFEOA business. VP and Landscape Chair Jack Cohon urged those who want fall tree trimming to get requests in now. Secretary & Legal Chair Bruce Carroll reported a quiet year in the courts and pointed out the extra expenses if homeowners don't get prior approval for remodeling projects

The highlight of the evening was the presentation by Sgt. Roger Smith who ably heads up our Post Security detail. The LFEOA security contract with Post Alarm has been renewed for another three years. Smith
warned about thefts from motor vehicles, noting "almost every problem
resulted from something preventable." Citing such lapses as leaving
cars unlocked with cell phones, computers and other valuables in plain
sight, he told homeowners, "we all need to work together. We need your
eyes and ears." Smith who has looked out for our safety for ten years said he feels a very strong connection to our community "It's my hill...I feel like it's family." |
